Xavier College Chapel including South Wing, West Wing and Great Hall Statement of Significance. One of the most formal classicising Baroque church designs in Victoria, with a giant order Roman Ionic portico, vestigial west towers and a dominant dome and drum over the crossing. The land on which 'Mooroolbeek was built was originally owned by Mr Nankivell befroe being sold to Mr. Frank Madden. Frank Madden had founded the firm of solicitors Madden & Butler, Melbourne, befroe Madden entered State parliament in 1894.
